If you are a RN and are returning to school to complete your BN or BSN then you apply directly to the FRNM for funding.
It does not matter which university you are attending; apply directly to the FRNM using the address on our website. Click on the hyperlinks below to review the policy prior to completing the application forms. All forms are linked below and must be completed on the computer, printed and submitted with your application. Please ensure you have included all of the requested information in your application package.
Post Diploma Baccalaureate – Annual deadline for application is May 1st.
This award supports diploma educated RNs who are pursuing their baccalaureate degree. Your application must include:
- Cover letter as outlined in the policy
- General Application form with application fee
- Financial Needs Assessment form
- Copy of letter of admission. Please note we no longer track this information over time on behalf of applicants.
- Three Reference Forms as outlined in the policy
Post diploma or degree certificate – Annual deadline for application is May 1st
This award is to support RNs who have been accepted for study or are currently enrolled in a certificate program of not less than 60 hours. Your application must include:
- Cover letter as outlined in the policy
- General Application form with application fee
- Financial Needs Assessment form
- Copy of letter of admission. Please note we no longer track this information over time on behalf of applicants.
- Three Reference Forms as outlined in the policy
Speciality Certification Exams – Annual deadline for application is May 1st
This award is to support RNs who have written a recognized speciality certification exam. Your application must include:
- Application for Speciality Certification Exams
- A photocopy of your certificate

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Should a referee wish to submit a letter of reference electronically, it should be signed and emailed to awards@frnm.ca. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the reference has been received. Application fees are non-refundable. The decisions of the awards committee are final; there is no appeal process.
